Creation

These images are taken from older books and can be "colorized" for a nicer appearance (and a fun project), and can either be placed on the timeline strips or used as flash cards.

The images are printed on very heavy cardstock with information on the back of each 2”x2” illustration.

The companion book, Creation to Present, offers chronological listings with references to the illustrations, the Catechism of the Catholic Church and the Bible of the people and events for use during construction of the timeline and for reference during history studies.

The material covers a lot of detail about Biblical events and people, significant events and people from Ancient Greece and Ancient Rome, extensive details about the life of Christ and the early church, saints, church councils, heresies, prominent popes, Roman emperors, cultural highlights, battles, major kings and dynasties, crusades, great authors, great works of art and architecture, important explorers, and more.

There are separate sections in the book timeline for U.S. Presidents and the Popes to make the book easier to use, but they are designed to be blended into the same timeline for your family.

Most timelines represent world history from a Protestant view, breezing over early church fathers and other people and events that receive greater attention in Catholic history texts.

The 248 page book provides instructions for constructing the timeline and using it as a teaching tool. It includes charts showing the people or events, date for location on timeline, and a brief summary of the “contribution” of the event or person. Many “summaries” are much longer than we find in other timeline books.

Extra chapters on American presidents and the Papacy add much more detail on each president and Church history respectively. The book sometimes includes cross references to the Catechism of the Catholic Church, especially in the time periods corresponding to those of the Bible.

"I find myself using the reference timeline portion very frequently, it is definitely not a book that will be just left on the shelf"

"Most timelines represent world history from a Protestant view, breezing over early church fathers, other people and events that receive greater attention in Catholic history texts.

This timeline set includes most figures you find in other timelines, plus those of special interest to Catholics."
